dinKum™ Data Backup software is a product of GPmicro Inc. GPmicro, Inc. is a privately held Nevada corporation whose mission is to provide high-tech products with superior ease of use and installation to customers worldwide. The company was formed to market off-site data backup solutions that are hard disk based, as well as automated data replication and retrieval software. This database driven backup solution has its strength in almost limitless scalability and being able to handle millions of users worldwide. It provides the end user not just with a backup but also with a document management solution for easy data retrieval.
The people that make up this corporation are dedicated to the development of quality data replication, backup, and recovery products to the underserved small to mid-sized business community. dinKum™ Data Backup provides data security for our client’s companies on par with the protection that only major corporations enjoyed heretofore. Using proprietary algorithms to parse, store and retrieve data, our products use today's off the shelf hardware and can be integrated with Windows based environments. GPmicro holds the patent (Patent #7,047,377) on the underlying technology that was used to develop the product and international patent protections have been filed.
The key principals of our organization have extensive start-up and development experience:
Dr. Oliver Hemmers (co-holder of the GPmicro patent) is an experimental physicist and Professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV)
Anne Pantelas has over 20 years experience in the securities and banking industry. She has managed portfolios with over $5B in assets. Ms. Pantelas' banking background gives her broad exposure to the operation of many industry sectors (including technology) as she personally managed the funded deals on behalf of the bank and closely liaised with the various CEO’s to monitor and guide their operations.
Also, in 1997, Ms. Pantelas founded a successful healthcare related business in Nevada, which within 3 years provided annual returns in excess of 600%.
Data transmission using dinKum™ Data Backup is extremely secure for a number of reasons. First, the data is encrypted during transmission using triple DES (168 bit) encryption. This is the most widely used standard of encryption currently used by the government and financial organizations. Next, the data is sent from one computer (the client) to another (the archive server). All that is installed on the customer end is our Window’s client to allow for this communication and no other computer can interrupt or hack into the process. And finally, the locations where GPmicro keeps its servers are also extremely secure with fingerprint entry procedures as well as redundancies for power and internal services in place. Each physical server location is further backed up and mirrored to another physical server location to further ensure continued service to customers.
GPmicro has thoroughly tested the functionality of dinKum™ data backup with stand alone beta testers, which have included UNLV and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL); the Nevada law-firm Hale Lane, a call center software development company, Advanced Information Systems; an employee leasing company AdvanStaff and a Las Vegas CPA firm, Sellers & Co.
